April 15^th, 2003 it's in the 80's, but 11 days ago...

...just when I thought it was safe to go in the water...

This was Friday, April 4, 2003. Later that night ice storm, round-2 hit.

That's a tree, not a bush.

Most of these trees will live, but they have been severely pruned.

This is one of the branches that would have been on my car had I not moved it at 2:00 AM.

Sure it looks pretty here, but sounds like a war zone as trees crack and fall through the night.

We lost power at 1:30 Friday morning, and got it back at 4:30 Tuesday afternoon.
Fortunately I have maintained the generator that I bought during the '91 ice storm.
Neighborhoods were buzzing 24 hours a day as everyone pounded out their own power.
